More Traveling Fun in Islands

The Bahamas is made up of over seven hundred islands and cays, with each island possessing its own unique character, making it an ideal place for a family exploration. Now independent the Bahamas was once a former British colony and due to its distance from Florida the culture of the Bahamas is impacted by both British and American influences. There several mainstream tourist destinations in the Bahamas, such as; Grand Bahama and New Providence, as well as less visited spots, such as the calm beauty Eleuthera and the jet-set playground Bimini. You and the family could just enjoy the sun and surf, but you would be missing out on much more adventure.

One of the main reasons many visitors come to the Bahamas is to go island hopping and satisfy their feeling for adventure on each new mysterious island. This can be done by taking the national airline of the Bahamas, Bahamas Air, which goes to nineteen island air ports via small commuter planes. You can also experience island hopping by boat, either by charter or the old fashioned route of taking the mail boat or it can be as easy as crossing a bridge, which is the case with New Providence and Paradise island.

Both places are special in there own way with Nassau, which is the capital of the Bahamas being in New Providence and Atlantis (A massive complex and a pearl of the Bahamas) in Paradise island. While Atlantis is a resort many of its attractions, such as Water scape which is a tunnel where you are surrounded by water and aquatic animals, are open to non-guests. On the island of Grand Bahama the dolphin experience offers unforgettable memories for kids. With all that said what possible reason is there why any reasonable family would not want to visit the crown jewel of the Caribbean. . . . THE BAHAMAS.
