Journals -7 Ideas

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

One of the most popular types of journal to keep is a personal one. Essentially you write about your day-to-day life and personal feelings in one of these. Often people end up simply listing everything they did during the day. This can become a bit tedious after a while; lead to one not enjoying the activity and even giving it up all together. So how can you make writing in a personal journal more meaningful? Here are ten ideas:

  1. Focus on feelings - When you write about your daily life events make sure you write about how you feel too. These don’t have to be long accounts of your day, just simple entries that allow you to express how you feel about the day’s events. By noting down our feelings about our experiences we often challenge our beliefs about ourselves and in time this leads to further self growth.
  2. Past memories - When you have a day you don’t feel is worth writing about, think back and write about a childhood memory or any event in your past that you do feel strongly about. This is especially useful when you don’t have a good day. Going back to a happy time and writing about it, recalling how you felt then can help to change your focus and improve your current mood.
  3. Dreams - You might have to keep your journal close to your bedside so you can get these down while you remember the details. Writing down dreams has been useful to people who experience recurring dreams that bother them.
  4. Gratitude - Make a list of everything you are thankful for. This can be from the toaster in your kitchen to your talents. It’s a very useful activity to help you focus on everything that is “right” in your life and will help you develop an awareness of how blessed you are.
  5. Acknowledgments - At the end of the day write down three to five things you have achieved for which you want to acknowledge yourself for. An example might be; ‘I acknowledge myself for tidying my bedroom cupboards today.’ It may seem insignificant, but recognizing our achievements no matter how small helps us to validate our personal contribution to life.
  6. Abundance - Attracting more abundance into your life starts with noticing how abundant you already are. Keep a log of abundance you experience on a daily basis. For instance someone may buy you coffee or lunch, give you a lift or you may find 20c lying on the ground. Write down all the evidence of abundance you attract in to your life and soon you will realize that you already are abundant.
  7. Goals - Goals are statements about what you want but don’t yet have in your life. Your journal is a good place to write these down and reflect on your plans to see if your life is going in the direction you want it to. A good way to start is to write a detailed description or sketch what your ideal life would be like if you could have anything you wanted. It is said if your mind can see something then it can be achieved. Once you have the bigger picture in place, you can choose parts to work on as goals.

Keeping a personal journal is not only a very rewarding activity but can bring about real transformation in our lives. Try some of the above ideas and you will soon be hooked for life.

7 Key Steps to a First Time World Cruise Adventure Holiday

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Step 1) Your top consideration must be your budget. Cruise travel fares can cost you $60 to $120 per day. Almost all world travel packages takes 4 to 10 weeks though there are short trips that go from 3 to 4 weeks, bringing you to 27 nations or up to 5 continents. So when you plan on exploring the beauty of French Polynesia or go diving to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, see the enchanting landscapes of China and enjoy a shopping spree in Hong Kong, you need to make sure that you have enough money to do all that.

Step 2) Now that you have decided to spend a long holiday, you now need to find world cruise lines around your area. Thankfully, there are travel agencies and world cruise companies found at most major cities in major countries. The internet proves to be a valuable resource in this regard where you can get updated posts of year-on-year cruising schedules.

Step 3) After deciding on which cruise line to take, you now have to think of the places you wanted to visit. This could be the easiest step. All you need to do is browse some catalog and book up early. Don’t hesitate to ask the assistance of an agent that specializes on world cruises.

Step 4) It is also important to know the best time to book your trip. Not only will it ensure excellent weather and climate throughout your travels but also the best deals on your intended trip. Off-season booking sure offer discounted cruising fee. This can work if you are a flexible traveler. Also, if you are traveling alone and if you chose not to share your cabin, you should prepare for a single’s supplement charge, which ranges from 10 to 100 percent rate per person.

Step 5) In general, a world cruise takes 90 to 120 days. On the other hand, there are also shorter cruises for those who do not have that much time for vacation. Hence, it is important to determine that world cruise segment you can take to complement the number of days that you intend to spend on your vacation.

Step 6) Since you are to travel with a large group of people to different parts of the world, diseases can easily spread either from already sick passengers or passengers who have developed an illness while on the trip. Hence, it would be wise to take all the necessary precautions such as vaccination and arrangements to your health insurance so you will be sure taken cared for in the event of sickness.

Step 7) Lastly, since a world cruise trip takes a while to complete, you are given all the time to meet new people and make friends or strong relationships. Be nice and try to participate in the numerous onboard and onshore activities or engage into lengthy conversations or idle chat with other world cruise guests.

5 Family Fun Ideas For Your Bali Holiday

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Bali may be one of the smaller islands in Indonesia, but it is by no means limited in terms of family fun. Bali holidays can be packed with experiences and adventures that will keep every member of the family amused. These are just five of the many family activities that come highly recommended on a family holiday in Bali.

1. Take to the Trees

The jungles of Bali are rich with wildlife and wilderness, but convincing young children that they want to wander through them for a day may be something of a challenge. Why not suggest to them that they can explore the jungle from above? The Bali Treetop Adventure Park is home to various obstacle courses, consisting of cargo nets, zip wires, rings, bridges and for the bravest - rope swings. With six different circuits, designed for all ages and levels, there’ll be no need to keep your feet on the ground on Bali holidays.

2. Take to the Skies

If you enjoyed seeing the jungles of Bali from above, you can also get a birds eye view of the Indian Ocean as you take to the skies and try your hand at paragliding. See the stunning Balinese shoreline and marvel at the coral reefs that are visible through the clear green waters of the lagoons. You needn’t even worry about remembering to steer yourself, as instructors can take you on a tandem flight, leaving you free to sit back and relax, with the knowledge that you and the rest of your family are in safe hands.

3. Take the Plunge

If you found the waters beneath you particularly tantalising whilst paragliding, you’ll be more than ready for a swim. However, on Bali holidays, there are only so many beach trips that can be taken before they begin to lose some of their excitement. When it comes to fun for the kids, the Waterbom water park is perfect. With nine exhilarating action rides and flumes, they will never want to leave. Not forgetting the parents, the more sedate lazy river ride will provide endless entertainment and, when your appetite for aquatic adventure has been satisfied, you can head towards the spa for a relaxing massage. Take your time indulging yourself, as with water blasts, pleasure pools and climbing walls, you can be sure the kids will be in no hurry to leave.

4. Take them to the zoo

Indonesia is full of exotic and unusual wildlife, but it can be difficult to spot many of the animals. The Bali Zoo can solve this problem for you, with an enormously diverse collection of animals, from crocodiles to monkeys to a whole array of beautiful, rare birds. You can buy food for the animals and mingle with wallabies, gibbons, orangutans and many others as you hand-feed them. With the help of a member of staff, you can even interact with lions and crocodiles at feeding time. For the youngest members of the family, pony rides and a petting zoo all make for a great day out.

5. Take to the dance floor

Finally, after the kids have gone to bed, take some time out for yourselves and try the tango! Bali holidays offer such a rich and diverse culture, and the best way to experience this is to try it for yourself. Treat yourself to dinner in one of the many Balinese cafes, and then take to the dance floor; with classes for beginners through to all levels, you’ll be surprised how quickly you can pick up the steps. Your dancing will never embarrass the kids again once you’ve mastered these fiery moves.

The musueams , festivals and beautiful natural attractions will draw the avid sightseer. And the advantage is that these activities go on all year long, so you can enjoy this city at any time. There is a very good reason that this area attracts so many visitors. The climate is gentle year round. Summer is the most popular time of the year for most visitors, but you can visit anytime and enjoy good weather. Golf, stroll outdoors or take the salt baths that are a unique feature of Torreviejas’ location between the sea and two salt lakes. The museum exhibits models of the ships that transported salt all over the world. There is also a wonderful exhibit where you can explore the interior of a submarine.

Passion processions are a vital part of this region of the country, and Torreviejos celebrates them with a musuem dedicated to this custom. The Holy Week Museum of Tomas Valcarcel, opened in 1992 and named for a local artist, exhibits various art forms depicting this centuries old custom. You can see sculptures, paintings and even embroidery that portray passion processions of the past. It is closed on Sundays and during the important week proceeding Easter. A Luxury Botswana Safari Tour

Friday, December 4th, 2009

The appeal of travel to Africa’s beautiful countries is due to the immense wealth of beauty, raw nature, and diverse cultures. Its allure is also in its mystery and promise of adventure. Perhaps the most surprising gem of all is Botswana with its dazzling sunsets, wide array of wildlife, rich cultural heritage and art, spectacular views no matter where one turns. In the midst of untamed natural beauty, proud Botswana invites you to discover luxury like you have never experienced before and which will remain vivid in your mind forever.

Botswana has only very recently become a premiere travel destination. Its remote location, once an impediment to travel, now makes it a prized locale for those who want to experience nature in its purest form. Visitors can tour the famed Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta, with its abundant wildfire. Watch herds of elephant, rare and brilliant birds, and graceful antelope. It is an experience like no other, and all the more surprising because of the luxury that you will find.

Before beginning your travels in remote Botswana, you will stay in one of Johannesburg’s premiere hotels with full and comfortable accommodations. During your adventures in the Botswana safari, you will be treated to luxury camps and sanctuary lodges. These gorgeous retreats offer incredible views, private accommodations and facilities, mosquito netting, air-conditioning, fans, and beautifully appointed rooms, so you can begin your explorations refreshed and invigorated. Professional guides lead you through herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, and hyenas as rare birds fly through the air.

Luxury travel to Botswana allows you to see exotic wildlife from the comfort and safety of a private 4×4 vehicle, smooth boat, on foot for the more intrepid, and even from your camp or lodge. Safety is the first priority, and rangers are specialists in the wildlife of Botswana. While it is exhilarating to travel through prides of lion, you certainly want an expert at your side.

Top Ten Tips For a Successful Motorcycle Tour

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

You chose a country that you thought would suit you, you carefully packed your luggage and your maps, you meticulously planned the route, but still the holiday is a disaster. What more could you have done to ensure the success of the tour? Here are the top ten tips for motorbike touring.

YOUR BIKE

It sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people set off on a long tour without making sure that their bike is in the best possible condition it could be. Having your motorcycle serviced before a long tour could save days of heartache, especially if you are planning a trip abroad. In some countries, garages aren’t always as motivated as you are when it comes to getting your bike back on the road. Sometimes, the whole holiday can be taken up waiting for repairs. Don’t forget to carry spare bulbs.

YOUR CLOTHING

Make sure you have the right clothing. Even in summer months there is a possibility that mountain roads can be subject to inclement weather. It could be forty degrees or it could be less than ten, and it’s a guessing game that you would be wise to avoid. This is when a guided tour with a luggage-carrying back-up vehicle comes into its own. Another advantage of a back-up vehicle is the access to water if it does become very hot.

DON’T BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW

Don’t try and cover too much ground in one day. Many people who set out on their own, forget to allow time for refreshment stops. There’s nothing worse than arriving at your planned destination in a state of exhaustion, then quickly eating and climbing into bed. A few consecutive days of this will see you wanting to ditch your bike and catch a bus. Be reasonable with your itinerary.

RIDE WITHIN THE LAW

Is it a race or a motorcycle holiday? Another downer that could happen whilst on tour, is being pulled by the local police and hit with a huge speeding fine, and in some countries I mean huge. Always, but always respect the traffic laws and speed limits, and this applies if you’re touring in your own country too.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE SENSIBLY

When planning your route, make sure you go somewhere interesting. It’s all very well spending the day on fantastic country roads, but when you wash up in that one horse town and you’re sitting in bar all by yourselves, you’ll wish you’d put a little more thought into the route. Again, if are travelling with a guided tour, someone else will have done all the homework for you.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING?

What time of year are you planning to take the tour? Bear in mind, especially if you are travelling to a mountainous region, that even when the sun is shining on the coast, it can snowing in the mountains. In summer, you’re probably going to be fine if you remember to carry the right gear, but be careful in spring and autumn, or you may just have to pack a snow shovel.

DRINKING?

I know that you’ve been set free and are determined to enjoy yourself, but believe me (here speaks the voice of experience), it’s no fun crawling to your bike with a raging hangover, a mouth that feels like a monkey slept in there and a splitting headache. For your own sake and the sake of the people you are travelling with, go easy on the booze.

HOW ARE YOU?

We’ve talked about the condition of your bike, but what about you? You owe it to yourself to feel as well as you can during your tour. I’m not talking about launching into some kind of marathon training before you embark on your trip, but the better you feel, the more you’ll enjoy yourself, so if it means shedding a few pounds, it’s well worth it. Besides looking after yourself, it’s also a good idea to keep an eye on your travelling companions during the tour. It’s always worth asking how someone feels, especially if you know them well and feel they’re not quite on the ball.

DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA

You’re in an incredibly beautiful mountain pass, the high peaks have a coating of pure white snow punctured by the most graceful pines you’ve ever seen, and guess what; you forgot you camera. This scenario is not as uncommon as you might think. Before you set off, and I don’t mean in the hour leading up to departure, make a list of all the things you’re likely to need on your trip. I know you want to travel light, but you can always cross things off the list, but you can’t magic them out of thin air once you’ve started.

FRIENDS

This could be the most important one. Go with friends who’ll understand when you get lost, tired or irritable. Better still go with a specialised tour company.

Torreviejas Sightseeing Tour Tips

Cheap African Safari Tour Tips

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Grabbing the best deal on a cheap African safari tour means doing a little homework particularly if you are a first time visitor to this mighty continent.

If you are visiting Africa for the first time, then taking an organized group tour is the ideal way to get your first taste of all it has to offer.

It will also save you a bundle in money and frustration!

Why Travel With A Group?

Unless you are a seasoned traveller to Africa, travelling with a group and having tour guides at your disposal means you’ll avoid running foul of unforseen harm which could come your way if you travel alone.

Africa can be a volatile place, not just in the wilds of the jungles but politically so if you intend going back at a later date, then getting a feel for the landscape on tour can give you some great initial experience of the country.

Avoiding Peak Season

Planning your trip well in advance is suggested. If you are working on a strict budget, then a cheap African safari tour during the low season makes a lot of sense.

Yes, you’ll more than likely need an umbrella but confining your trip to the wet season also means you’ll get great discounts. Avoiding the crowds is another big benefit.

The wet seasons can be a little hard to judge but if you plan to travel outside the December-March and July-September periods you should generally be able to find yourself a good deal on a group trip.

Confining your trip to a designated place or country is also likely to help you cut down on the overall cost of your holiday.

Some countries may be a little more expensive than others. For example, Botswana, despite all it has to offer the visitor in the shape of flora and fauna attractions, could possibly leave your hip pocket a little light on by the time you’re ready to head home.

On the other hand, Kenya can be a little more attractive for the price conscious visitor and may appeal more as a cheap African safari tour destination. In the end, it’s up to you and where you’d prefer to travel.

The Merits and Demerits of going for EFT Payment and eChecks

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

EFT Payment is an easier way of making payment to another account. Since the EFT Payment is made electronically you need not write the conventional checks and deposit them in the banks. You can easily raise eChecks to another account to which you need to pay the amount. Once they receive eChecks, they would request the money from your bank and once cleared the amount is debited from your bank account and credited to the receiver. One of the important merits is the convenience of sending money from your desktop without any hassles. Moreover the charges on the eChecks are less when compared to the credit cards. Hence this could be one of the options for the users.

Any system will also have its own demerits and no wonder the EFT Payment and eChecks too has its own demerits. The amount is debited from your account immediately once the eChecks are cleared. This itself is a drawback for many users as they may not have sufficient funds in their accounts. Payment through credit card is not like that. You have a credit period after which you can pay the amount. Return of eChecks is possible when there are no sufficient funds in the users account. This bouncing of eChecks could be a problem for the business as they would have already dispatched the product to the client. ACH Processing can be used by the business to automate the EFT Payment.
